Tigers made the journey across the Severn Bridge to face an up and coming UWIC side in what proved to be an exciting game. There were season debuts for Alex Boden from Shropshire Warriors and Barry Derrick who both signed during the January transfer window.
Tigers started well with some great offensive and defensive rebounds from Tad Gray, combined with some consistent finishing by Joe Randall. However, Tigers soon relaxed, taking their foot off of the gas and this allowed UWIC to go on a 10 – 0 run: mainly scoring from close range.
After some harsh words from Coach Nolan, Tigers fired back with Barry Derrick and Harry Turner raising the intensity with some great hustle. Adam Rickwood continued the recovery finishing well on the break with George Scarborough hitting his shots from range. Tigers junior Calum Pincombe also got the opportunity to play some valuable minutes.
With the transfer window closing at the end of January, coach Matt Nolan has stated that he has one more big signing in the pipeline but will not reveal any names at this time.
