Taunton Tigers Under 18 boys team went this Saturday to Poole to play Dorset Storm. They were without Jordan Seeley, Rob Fox, Simon Farrar and Dan Farrow. The team was therefore lacking height to start the game. What they lacked in height they had plenty in fire and spirit to compensate. Coach Cameron Seeley requested speed and movement from the players and this he got from the tip-off. With only nine players there was a continuous rotation to keep fresh legs on the court at all times. First quarter was 10 – 22 for the Tigers, Adam Rickwood doing the damage with Tom Rowley orchestrating the manoeuvre.
Second quarter 10 – 24, Martin Russell stepped in with Tom Coates. In the third quarter the Storm began to look more like a zephyr at 14 – 29 William Imbo continuing the pressure with Craig Loveday. Any loose balls were fought for by Sam Mead. In the last quarter the Tigers were hunting the 100 point mark which they reached with Josh Baker making a lay-up. But the last points went to the youngest member of the team at age 15, Sean Clifford, on the buzzer.
