We have created tauntontigers.co.uk to make it accessible, easy to use, visually interesting and maintainable. We are committed to ensuring our website displays well for all users, including those with different devices, browsers or screen readers and that it conforms to modern web standards.
We have optimised images throughout our site to ensure quick download times and access to information which cannot be read when in image format.
Where images are used we have added ‘Alt’ tags — text alternatives so that you can still see what the image is meant to convey even if it doesn't load or if you've have chosen to browse with the images switched off or you are using a screen reader to read the web page rather than view.
Text and type on the site has been presented in a way that should easy to read and at a size that is clear and legible. If you have difficulty reading the the text on our site, most modern web browsers have powerful functionality to increase the size of a page on screen, we reccommend utilising this functionality. In most cases you can activate this by holding down the ‘Ctrl’ and using the scroll wheel on your mouse to ‘zoom’ to increase the size of the text.
We have ensured our site conforms to W3C standards for xHTML and CSS with particular focus on semantics, usability, clean xHTML code, sensible CSS and Typography. Adhering to W3C standards should make our site accessible across browsers which adhere to the same standards, and should make our pages more accessible to those using screen readers and similar devices.
We highly advocate the use of one of the freely available modern Web Browsers such as, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or others. We have endeavoured to test our site on as many different screens, browsers and platforms as possible.
The navigation used on out site was designed to work in a logical and easy to use way whilst allowing for growth in different areas. The menus used throughout the site are consistent which will help users when navigating the pages on our site.
Pages for the various different teams the club runs can reached by using the main menu. Once on a team page, previous or following season information can be viewed by using the links at the bottom of the page. Information available on these pages includes, player rosters, schedule and results, team photos, player photos, league tables, match reports, game statistics and Videos.
Other ares of the site work in a similar way allowing users to navigate to previous seasons on, for example, the photos page.
