U15 Boy's continued their winning streak to 8 – 0 in the recent game against dorset. However the game highlighted that the team still has a lot to learn and many aspects to work on. In the 1st half the team stuck to the game plan and played well against Dorsets Zone defence, passing the ball well and taking good shots. George Freeman in particular finishing well on the end of some highlight passing from Sean Clifford. Joe Randall proved what he is capable of scoring 12 points in a row and finished with a total of 22 and Man Of The Match.
The inside combination of George ‘Geo’ Williams, Scott Speed and Sam Hardy worked well and all three showed glimpses of their talent but will need more games to help toughen them up! At the end of the half Tigers had built a considerable lead 43 – 14.
Dorset started the 2nd half with a more physical approach, this unnerved the Tigers who proceeded to have a mental laspe for most of the quarter. The Tigers forgot to box out and rebound which allowed the Storm to put back most of there missed shots. A time out from Coach Carter emphasised the issue of not coasting and sticking to the game plan. The players responded positively, especially those on the bench. George Scarborough, Edd Surtees and Pip Anderson again showed that they are easily competent at performing at this level. It was also pleasing to see that squad members Ross Bradley and Tom Kennedy did well with given the opportunity.
Coach Carter has now rotated 19 players this season with spots on the team highly competed for. Friendly fixtures against Frome U18s and a possible fixture against Bristol will show which players are ready for the playoffs.
