Match Report: Taunton Tigers Under 16 Mens Team — 10 November 2007

Taunton Tigers vs Plymouth Marjon Cannons II

Taunton Tigers U16s had a comfortable 48 point win against Plymouth Marjon Cannons II. It was another great opportunity to give the whole squad valuable minutes, the Tigers rotation policy is now starting to pay dividends with all players showing confidence on the court and a better understanding in terms of both offence and defence.

It was another great defensive display with better court positioning from the tigers big men of Pym, Ingham, Schroeder, and Royall. This allowed the Tigers quick guards to push up the court and dominate the opposition guards, forcing bad passes and turnovers.

Offensively the Tigers fast break is now starting to take shape with forwards Gratton, Potter, Sweet and Ketima running out in the open court much better and with the guard combinations of Surtees, Scarborough, Murphy and Knight now able to penetrate opposing defences with excellent passes.

This was very much a team display with 5 players reaching double figures in scoring, and everybody else contributing at both ends. But Coaches Carter and Scarborough will be quick to remind the team of the challenge of Plymouth Raiders who have kept many of the their players from last season and will offer a much more physical challenge than the teams that Tigers have faced so far.

Final Score: Taunton Tigers 85 – 37 Plymouth Marjon Cannons II
