South West Conference Champions Taunton Tigers defeated Waltham Forest Spitfires, who finished 4th in the South East Conference in the first round of the playoffs, by 35 points.
It was a scrappy 1st Half as Tigers lacked some strong finishing and allowed the Spitfires some easy baskets with some indifferent defence.
The 3rd and 4th quarters were a different story with the Tigers tightening up on defence and converting some excellent fast break points, the tempo of the game was more controlled with the guards taking the pace out of the game with better ball movement allowing the Tigers 3 point shooters and the inside players more room to manoeuvre.
Overall it was another good team performance with everybody contributing to the win. Tigers will definitely need to be at their best as they take on London Towers in the next round. Tip off is at 12:15 at the Richard Huish Dome, entrance is free!
