The Tigers under 16's team continued their current winning streak this Saturday with their most convincing win of the season so far at the Richard Huish Dome, beating Plymouth Raiders 91 – 37.
Tigers had a great start offensively to the game with George Freeman rediscovering his shooting touch, scoring two 3 pointers from ‘Down Town’. The intensity level of the Tigers was greatly increased from previous games and with better defence the players were able to convert steals into points and start to runaway with the game.
The game provided excellent opportunities for players to gain valuable court time and show the coaching staff what they could do. Coach Carter was particularly happy with the improvement in play from Jack Murphy, Ricky Richards and Ben Richards. Guards George Scarborough and Ed Surtees showed confidence and maturity coming strongly off the bench, with Surtees getting the biggest cheer of the game with a big 3 pointer.
Even though this was a comprehensive win for the young Tigers side, the team cannot relax; there will be sterner tests ahead and there are plenty of things to improve upon.
